Service 06 of 06 · Email

The marketing channel you actually own.

Facebook can throttle you. Google can change the algorithm. ChatGPT can rewrite who gets cited tomorrow. Your email list cannot be taken from you. We build the welcome sequences, the post-purchase flows, the review request automations, and the win-back campaigns that turn one-time buyers into repeat customers, on the only channel that is truly yours.

The problem

You have a list. You almost never use it.

Most small businesses we audit have an email list of 500 to 5,000 people. Customers, past leads, opt-ins from a freebie they ran two years ago. And the list sits there. Maybe a Christmas blast in December. Maybe a "we are still here" check-in once a quarter. That is it.

Meanwhile, email still returns about $36 for every $1 spent (DMA benchmark, holds true year after year). It is consistently the highest-ROI marketing channel for small business. Not because email is magic, but because it is the only channel where you talk directly to people who already said yes to hearing from you.

What is missing is the system. The automations that fire without you thinking about them. The flows that turn a one-time customer into a repeat one. That is what we build.

$36
Average return for every $1 spent on email marketing. Highest ROI of any channel.
5x
More likely to sell to an existing customer than a new lead. Email is built for the existing list.
~40%
Of small business email lists are "decayed" (untouched in 12+ months). The Sprint cleans it before we use it.
What is included

The full email automation stack.

Built in your ESP of choice, in your voice, approved by you. Ships live by Day 30 of the Sprint.

List hygiene & re-engagement

We clean your existing list (bounce removal, unsubscribe sweep, re-permission opt-in for anyone cold 6+ months). Smaller, healthier list. Better deliverability. Better metrics.

Welcome sequence (3-5 emails)

Triggers on signup or first purchase. Sets expectations, delivers value, introduces your services, ends with a soft conversion offer. Highest-performing emails in the stack.

Post-purchase / post-service flow

Thank you, what to expect next, helpful follow-up. Branches into review request for happy customers, support escalation for anyone not happy. Reduces refund/complaint volume.

Review request automation

Triggered 3-5 days after service completion. Smart-branched so you only ask for public reviews from customers who indicated they were happy. Direct link to Google, Yelp, or Facebook.

Win-back & reactivation

For customers who have not booked or purchased in 60, 90, or 180 days. Seasonal reminders, return-offer hooks, "we miss you" check-ins. Wakes up dormant revenue.

Monthly broadcast (newsletter)

One drafted, designed, and sent broadcast per month. Pulls from your content pillar of the month so it is never written from scratch. You approve once, we send.

Connected service

The review request flow is where email powers your reputation.

Most small businesses get reviews by accident. The customers who happened to remember. The ones the receptionist nudged. Email automation flips it: every happy customer gets asked, every time, on Day 4 after service, with a direct one-click link to leave the review. No reminders to send. No awkward asks in person. The system does it. See how Reputation Management uses this →

Who this fits

Built for businesses with repeat customers and existing lists.

If you have ever sold to someone more than once, email automation pays for itself. Especially for service-based businesses with predictable customer lifecycles.

Home services

HVAC, plumbing, pest, landscaping. Seasonal maintenance reminders alone justify the build.

Wellness practices

Acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, integrative. Recurring care + new-client nurture.

E-commerce / product

Wellness products, niche retail, makers. Welcome + post-purchase + win-back is the trifecta.

How it fits in

Email lives in the Setup Sprint and all Care Plan tiers.

Sprint weeks 2-3 are dedicated to email. We audit your existing list and ESP, clean what is salvageable, then build the core automation stack: welcome, post-purchase, review request, win-back, and the monthly broadcast template. Live by Day 30.

Email management is included in every Care Plan tier. Foundation handles list hygiene + 1 monthly broadcast. Growth adds quarterly new sequences + segmentation. Scale adds advanced segmentation, A/B testing, and revenue attribution.

Honest expectation setting: if your list is under 200 contacts, email is not your fastest channel. Get visibility first (Local SEO + Reputation) to grow the list, then layer email in once you have something to send to. We will tell you that during the Strategy Session if it applies to you.

Real questions

Stuff people actually ask before they sign up.

What email platform do you build in?

+
Whatever you already use, or we recommend one based on your business. We are fluent in GHL (GoHighLevel), Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Klaviyo, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, and Brevo. If you have no platform, we set up the simplest one that fits your stack and budget.

I have an old list that has not been emailed in a year. Is it dead?

+
Probably 30-60% of it is, but the live portion is still gold. The Sprint includes a re-engagement and list hygiene pass: a 3-email win-back sequence, hard-bounce removal, and a clean re-permission opt-in for anyone who has not opened in 6+ months. You almost always end up with a smaller, healthier list that actually performs.

Do you write the emails or do I?

+
We write them. You approve them. Drafted in your voice (captured during onboarding), human-edited, and tested before they go live. Monthly broadcasts work the same way: we draft, you approve, we send.

How long does it take to build the full automation stack?

+
The Sprint allocates weeks 2-3 to email. The core stack (welcome, post-purchase or post-booking, review request, win-back, monthly broadcast template) is live by Day 30. Additional sequences (cart abandonment, seasonal campaigns, segmented offers) get layered in during ongoing Care Plan months.

What kind of open and conversion rates should I expect?

+
Honest ranges for small local businesses with a warm list: 35-50% open rates, 2-6% click-through rates, and 1-3% conversion-to-booking on well-targeted offers. New welcome sequences typically run higher (50-70% open on the first email). We will benchmark your existing performance before the Sprint so we can show real lift, not vanity numbers.

What about SMS? Should I do that too?

+
SMS is powerful and complementary, but it has stricter compliance, higher unsubscribe rates, and a narrower use case (transactional, appointment reminders, urgent updates). We can add it as an add-on at the Growth tier and up. For most clients, email is the right place to start; SMS gets layered in once email is humming.

Do you handle deliverability and spam compliance?

+
Yes. Sprint setup includes SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration on your sending domain, double opt-in setup where it makes sense, and CAN-SPAM/GDPR-compliant footers. Ongoing Care Plan months include deliverability monitoring (inbox placement, spam complaints, unsubscribe rate) and remediation if something starts drifting.
